After a long day of working online do you ever want to throw your computer out of the window? What if your really frustrated but don’t want to break your expensive computer equipment? You could always do like a co-worker of mine did, and give the mouse a toss. I think he regretted his action just as the flying mouse left his pitching arm and bounced off of the office window and shattered into pieces. Fortunately for him he was still able to finish his report in time thanks to Keyboard Shortcuts.
Navigate Around Your Screen
You can navigate around your screen using Ctrl + Tab to move forward through tabs, Ctrl + Shift + Tab to move back, and Tab to move forward through options or Shift + Tab to move back through options. So just keep in mind that adding Shift to a key combination gives the opposite effect of the original combination.
Windows Keyboard Commands
It’s also easy to navigate around the screen using the arrow keys and hitting the enter key is the same as a mouse click. If you have a windows keyboard many of the common windows keyboard commands are on the keyboard. Such as Ctrl + X for cut, Ctrl + C for copy, Ctrl + V for paste, and Ctrl + B for bold, and Ctrl + U for underline and Ctrl + I for Italic. If you lock your function keys with your F Lock you have a help menu, undo, redo, open, close, reply, fwd, send, spell, save and print keys.
Windows Logo Key
If you press the Windows Logo Key you will get the start menu. You can cycle through the menu items using the directional arrows and the enter key. But that’s not all. Say you want to run a program press the Logo Key + R. If you want to use Aero Flip to cycle through the open programs on your screen go ahead and hit the Logo Key + Tab.

Fun With Windows7 Keyboard Shortcuts
A great way to discover the shortcut keys for Windows 7 is to experiment a little. Try to navigate without the mouse and see what key combinations work for you. Eventually often used keys will become second nature such as using Ctrl + A to select all or Ctrl + F5 for a browser refresh. Most programs also use accelerator keys that make commands easier using the keyboard. If there is an underlined letter in an application menu then pressing Alt + that letter will initiate that keyboard command. Pressing the Alt key in some programs also highlights different keyboard commands.
