By default, Windows 7 doesn’t have the Delete button on the Windows Explorer toolbar. Such button is quite useful because it lets you delete files and folders without right-clicking them, thus saving one step. This quick hack will show you how to add the delete button in the Windows Explorer toolbar in your Windows 7 operating system.
- Click Start.
- In the Search field, type regedit and press Enter.
- Locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\ FolderTypes
- In the left pane, under FolderTypes take Administrator rights of the following keys:
- {5c4f28b5-f869-4e84-8e60-f11db97c5cc7}
- {5fa96407-7e77-483c-ac93-691d05850de8}
- {7d49d726-3c21-4f05-99aa-fdc2c9474656}
- {94d6ddcc-4a68-4175-a374-bd584a510b78}
- {b3690e58-e961-423b-b687-386ebfd83239}
- To take Full Administrator Right of these keys, right click them, click the Permissions option and take full permission rights.
- Now, you can safely close the regedit.
- Download this little file.
- Right-click the file (which should be on your computer by now) and from the menu, select Merge.
- Click Run and Yes if prompted.
- Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
