Convert Windows 7 User Interface To Look Like Windows 8

Windows 8 seems to have great looking UI customizations as it seems from the leaks coming out these days, like it will have a more simpler task manager which is very easy to understand and use, moreover it will have taskbar user tile photo which can used to switch to different accounts on windows, and you will be able to set a video as a user tile image in windows 8

All these features are really tempting, so just in case if you are bored of windows 7 interface on your computer, you can convert or transform the user interface on windows 7 to make it look like windows 8, you will need to install windows 7 to windows 8 transformation pack for this.

However the complete UI of windows 7 will not change still, your windows 7 will look like windows 8 to a great extent as much as it is possible. It will add the following features to windows 8.

New Nokia Browser faster and easier to use

GLOBAL
 – The launch of Symbian Anna has brought a number of improvements to the Symbian OS from the last version. One of the most anticipated is an updated browser. The new, enhanced browser – version 7.3 – makes browsing the Web faster and easier. Find out what’s been added, removed and how it’ll make your Web browsing a better experience.
7_3browser02

Browsing the Internet on our mobile phone is becoming an everyday occurrence and for many – especially in emerging markets – it’s often the first experience people have of surfing the Net. So it’s only right that the experience should be an easy, rewarding one.
Symbian Anna comes with a streamlined UI that has seen the removal of the double layer of icons at the bottom of the browsing window (see image below), and has instead replaced them with a small back arrow that is always on show and an options icon that can call up various different tasks such as bookmarks, history or the exit button. That makes for some extra room up top to include a convenient address bar for easy URL typing and web searching.
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the browser on the Nokia N8 (left) and the browser on the Nokia X7 (right). As you can see, there’s extra room for text in the new version, plus the address bar. Less scrolling is good news for mobile web users. Most operations take one less click than previously, with ‘back’ only requiring a single tap.
So putting that aside for one moment, what’s going on behind the browser? What makes it better than the old version?
Version 7.3 of the browser has been created using a newer version of WebKit , a new JavaScript engine and has been optimised further for Symbian, meaning that JavaScript on v7.3 is 30% faster than the previous version. It’s also more compatible with the emerging HTML 5 standard with a score of 111 out of 400 in an industry HTML5 test. (The old 7.2 version scored 29 in this test).
Back to the visuals and the things you’ll notice the most when looking at the Internet on your phone. The inclusion of a portrait Qwerty keyboard has been something that many users of Nokia touchscreen phones have asked for recently, and this makes typing in URLs and keywords in the address bar a lot easier. Here’s a couple of screenshots of the Qwerty portrait keyboard in action:
Once you’ve found a favourite web page, you may want to copy a link from the site onto your clipboard for using somewhere else. Long pressing on a link will open up a new menu that allows you to copy that link or to open it in a new window, like so:

Use, Share WiFi Or Any Internet Connection By Other Computers On LAN Network Connected

All the laptops, tablets, mobile phones generally come with a Wi-Fi feature enabling them to get the internet connection from the nearest Wi-Fi hotspot. But what about the fixed desktop computers with LAN(Local Area Network is a computer network that connects computers and devices in a limited geographical area such as home, school, computer laboratory or office building.)? How can they share a Wi-Fi internet connection? We’ll tell you how.
We are considering the Windows 7 – one of the Best Operating Systems for the features and functions offered when compared to the previous versions. Now, generally, most of the required files and options come pre-installed on your Operating System and requires just the right configuration. Here’s what you need to do, a few simple steps and you are done.
Step#1 : Right click on the Connectivity Icon which is located on your system tray and then click on ‘Network and Sharing Center’.

Step#2 : click on the ‘Change Adapter Settings’, followed by selecting the Ethernet Adapter and then right clicking on the same, selecting the last ‘Properties’ option as shown below.

Step#3 :  click on the ‘Sharing’ Tab which allows you to share your Internet Connection with other users. You can Allow other network users through your current Internet Connection and also allow or disallow other users to control or disable the shared Internet connection. You need to check to YES for both of these settings as displayed below.

step#4 : After applying the above mentioned settings you will be assigned a Static IP address(a IP which is not going to change and you can access your LAN adapter with that specific IP address). Note that your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on your network.

Step#5 : Once you press on Yes, the above mentioned box will remove any IP address which was previously entered under the network settings and any user who wants to access your Internet Connection has to take any Sub IP’s which have a different D Class changed in TCP/IP 4 configuration.
There are few other options as well for the same – Direct PC to PC Transfer or using a Virtual Router, which we’ll cover some other day in a fresh blog.

A fresh take on an icon

Some of you on Chrome’s early release channels may have noticed our latest tweak to Chrome’s icon:

Since Chrome is all about making your web experience as easy and clutter-free as possible, we refreshed the Chrome icon to better represent these sentiments. A simpler icon embodies the Chrome spirit — to make the web quicker, lighter, and easier for all.

Even before this effort, the new version of the Chrome logo was already being conjured up by Googlers and Chrome fans. Numerous creative reinterpretations have organically moved the icon towards simplicity and abstraction, so it felt right to make the icon structure cleaner and easier to recreate.

The Modern Browser poster by Mike Lemanski, celebrating Chrome’s 2nd birthday

Chrome Magnets by Tyson Kartchner

Redesigning the icon was very much a group effort. Collectively, we explored many variations, tried the icon in several different contexts, and refined the details as we moved along. It was important to maintain consistency across all media, so we kept print, web, and other possible formats in mind. Once we arrived at a good place, we finished up the icon by resizing, pixel-pushing, and getting everything out the door.

For Chrome users, you’ll see this latest icon reflected in your browsers soon, as we bring the latest features and improvements to the beta and stable channels in the coming weeks!

Advanced sign-in security for your Google account

Has anyone you know ever lost control of an email account and inadvertently sent spam—or worse—to their friends and family? There are plenty of examples (like the classic "Mugged in London" scam) that demonstrate why it's important to take steps to help secure your activities online. Your Gmail account, your photos, your private documents—if you reuse the same password on multiple sites and one of those sites gets hacked, or your password is conned out of you directly through a phishing scam, it can be used to access some of your most closely-held information.

Most of us are used to entrusting our information to a password, but we know that some of you are looking for something stronger. As we announced to our Google Apps customers a few months ago, we've developed an advanced opt-in security feature called 2-step verification that makes your Google Account significantly more secure by helping to verify that you're the real owner of your account. Now it's time to offer the same advanced protection to all of our users.

2-step verification requires two independent factors for authentication, much like you might see on your banking website: your password, plus a code obtained using your phone. Over the next few days, you'll see a new link on your Account Settings page that looks like this:

Take your time to carefully set up 2-step verification—we expect it may take up to 15 minutes to enroll. A user-friendly set-up wizard will guide you through the process, including setting up a backup phone and creating backup codes in case you lose access to your primary phone. Once you enable 2-step verification, you'll see an extra page that prompts you for a code when you sign in to your account. After entering your password, Google will call you with the code, send you an SMS message or give you the choice to generate the code for yourself using a mobile application on your Android, BlackBerry or iPhone device. The choice is up to you. When you enter this code after correctly submitting your password we'll have a pretty good idea that the person signing in is actually you.

It's an extra step, but it's one that significantly improves the security of your Google Account because it requires the powerful combination of both something you know—your username and password—and something that only you should have—your phone. A hacker would need access to both of these factors to gain access to your account. If you like, you can always choose a "Remember verification for this computer for 30 days" option, and you won't need to re-enter a code for another 30 days. You can also set up one-time application-specific passwords to sign in to your account from non-browser based applications that are designed to only ask for a password, and cannot prompt for the code.

Introducing Gmail Motion

In 1874 the QWERTY keyboard was invented. In 1963, the world was introduced to the mouse. Some 50 years later, we’ve seen the advent of microprocessors, high resolution webcams, and spatial tracking technology. But all the while we’ve continued to use outdated technology to interact with devices. Why?

This is a question that we’ve been thinking about a lot at Google, and we’re excited to introduce our first attempts at next generation human computer interaction: Gmail Motion. Gmail Motion allows you to control Gmail — composing and replying to messages — using your body.

To use Gmail Motion, you’ll need a computer with a built-in webcam. Once you enable Gmail Motion from the Settings page, Gmail will enable your webcam when you sign in and automatically recognize any one of the detected movements via a spatial tracking algorithm. We designed the movements to be easy and intuitive to perform and consulted with top experts in kinestetics and body movement in devising them.

We’ve been testing Gmail Motion with Googlers over the last few months and have been really excited about the feedback we’ve been hearing. We’ve also done some internal tests to measure productivity improvements and found an average 14% increase in email composition speed and12% reduction in average time in inbox. With Gmail Motion, Googlers were able to get more done and get in and out of their inboxes more quickly.

To use Gmail Motion, you’ll need the latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox 3.5+ and a built-in webcam. If it’s not already enabled on your account, sit tight — we’ll be making it available to everyone over the next day or so.

For more information, visit gmail.com/motion.
