How to run multiple OS simultaneously on a PC

Imagine you are  working in ubuntu and simultaneously you have your windows open,on the same screen!. Well that is not a dream , there are many softwares like Microsoft Virtual PC ,VMWare andvirtual box available which provide you a Virtual Machine . VirtualBox is a cross-platform virtualization application. It  allows you to run more than one operating system at a time. This way, you can run software written for one operating system on another (for example, Windows software on Linux or a Mac) without having to reboot to use it. Since you can configure what kinds of “virtual” hardware should be presented to each such operating system, you can install an old operating system such as DOS or OS/2 even if your real computer’s hardware is no longer supported by that operating system. Many Linux users use virtual machines to run Windows-only applications that cannot be properly emulated through WINE.
Developed by Sun Microsystem ,virtual box has edge over others due to following reasons:
1. It’s free for personal use.
2. Unlike others it is cross-platform . That is users on windows or linux would have the same experience as a mac user.
3. Its installation is quick and it does’t install unecessary RAM consuming device drivers and services.
4. Its faster and more responsive than other.
To download it, click HERE.
With simple installation and configuration it allows you to create virtual machines and for the virtual hard drive, you have to allocate space from any of the existing drives you have. You can also allocate some amount of RAM to it . When it is running, the RAM gets divided between the host and OS on virtual machine. Operating System installation is identical to installing on real hardware except that each virtual machine opens in its own window.
So grab your virtual box and start experimenting today!
